Our mission is to promote the welfare of the children and the residents of the community of Oceanside, California through financial assistance to the Kiwanis of Oceanside Pacific. THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE of this corporation is to receive from the public, donations obtained through the efforts of members of the OCEANSIDE PACIFIC KIWANIS CLUB, or otherwise, for public or charitable purposes to promote the welfare of residents of the community of Oceanside, San Diego County, California and others with special emphasis on supporting youth. The OPK Foundation has several on-going projects such as: PROJECT: AED's (Automated External Defibrillators) PLACEMENT: In over 40 public locations, including Oceanside High School and El Camino High School and other buildings open to the public and in every police patrol car in the City of Oceanside PROJECT COSTS: $40,000 FUNDING SOURCES: Rancho Santa Fe Women's Club Elizabeth Van Hunnik Oceanside Pacific Kiwanis Club Other Donors PROJECT: Child ID FUNDING SOURCES: Wal-Mart and Hoot-Wink, Inc. (Hooters) PROJECT COSTS: $25,000 + Annual supplies GOAL: To fingerprint and photograph every second grader in the Oceanside Unified School District every year. NUMBER OF CHILDREN ID"d: Over 10,000 as of January 2010. The Foundation's official name is Kiwanis of Oceanside Pacific Foundation, Inc. The Foundation was incorporated on February 8, 2001. The corporate identification number assigned by the California Department of Corporations is 2280985. The Foundation is tax exempt under Section 501 (c ) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code of the United States and Section 23701 (d) of the California Revenue and Taxation Code. The Federal tax identification number is 31-1765727. This corporation is a non-profit public benefit corporation and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized under the Non-Profit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes.
